Chapter 7

Correct Output Forms

Guidelines for how MetaDestiny results should be communicated.

The ethical framework of MetaDestiny requires specific output formats that preserve uncertainty, affirm agency, and prevent harmful interpretations.

7.1 Output Principles

All MetaDestiny outputs must adhere to five core principles:

  1. Probabilistic: Express outcomes as probabilities, never certainties
  2. Bounded: Include uncertainty intervals on all estimates
  3. Conditional: Specify the conditions under which probabilities apply
  4. Agency-Affirming: Show how choices affect outcomes
  5. Humble: Acknowledge the limitations of the prediction

7.2 Required Components

Every MetaDestiny output must include:

Component Description Example
Probability The likelihood of the outcome P = 0.73
Uncertainty Confidence interval ± 0.12
Time Window When the probability applies 2024.5 - 2025.5
Conditions Factors the probability depends on Given social_exposure > threshold
Agency Coefficient How much choices matter α = 0.45
Limitations What the prediction cannot tell you Does not specify identity of person

7.3 Forbidden Forms

❌ Deterministic Statements

"You will..." / "It is certain that..." / "Your fate is..."

❌ Unbounded Predictions

Probabilities without uncertainty intervals

❌ Agency-Denying Language

"There is nothing you can do..." / "It is predetermined..."

❌ Specific Harmful Predictions

Death dates, specific accidents, unavoidable tragedies

7.4 Example Outputs

Correct Output Format

✓ Career Transition Analysis

Query: Probability of successful career change to tech industry

Time Window: Next 18 months (2025.0 - 2026.5)

Base Probability: P = 0.58 ± 0.15

Conditional Factors:

• If skill_development > 6 months: P → 0.72 ± 0.12

• If network_expansion active: P → 0.68 ± 0.13

Agency Coefficient: α = 0.62 (high influence from choices)

Peak Windows: March-May 2025, September-November 2025

Limitations: Does not predict specific company or role

Incorrect Output (Forbidden)

❌ This format violates MetaDestiny principles

"You will get a job at Google in April 2025. This is your destiny and cannot be changed."

Problems: Deterministic, specific, no uncertainty, denies agency
